A fire broke out at the Hilton Hotel in Surfers Paradise around 2am, with firefighters taking about an hour to extinguish two separate blazes. A resident filmed a fireball plummeting more than 100 meters, igniting a second fire on the roof of level two. All guests were evacuated but were allowed back inside by 6am after Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) declared the building safe. Usman Khawaja has SLAMMED Queensland Cricket and its head of elite cricket Joe Dawes about their treatment of his absence from a Sheffield Shield match against South Australia.
