This might be a bit cringey, but I will be cringe until the very end. I started doing Tiktok in 2019. At first, as a fun little thing. A hobby. But through these 7 years, I’ve become a different person than I was back then. Tiktok gave me opportunities I wasn’t going to get anywhere else. It gave me a platform to be silly for a living. It helped pay off my student loans, gave me the chance to work on projects I wouldn’t of dreamed of, and, most importantly, helped me make friends with people around the world. People can say that it’s just social media, just a dumb app like any other. But TikTok is different. It’s the only place I was allowed to be myself and flourish. There’s a place for everyone and it connects us all around the globe, regardless of our country. Tiktok was the first time I was able to interact with everyone around the world in a unified way. And for that I will forever be thankful to Tiktok. The US will most likely uphold the ban on Tiktok. Which is scary because it’s a breach of our freedom of speech and because this country seems to be falling into a spiral of censorship and dictatorship. Everywhere we turn, the average person is being ignored for the interest of people who have all the money in the world and don’t care about others. I hope, with what we learned on here, we can unite as one against what’s to come, but that is only answered in the future. I want to thank each and everyone of you who have watched my content over the years. You’ve watched me grow and learn. I lived to read all your comments. It was your words of encouragement that have kept me going all these years. I still have other social media where you can find me in my bio, but nothing will feel like Tiktok. It was so special.
