#ad I choose to hand water my veggie garden 99% of the time. 💦 Why? Because not all plants like the same amount of water. Some are thirstier. For example I water my corn and cucumbers more than my tomatoes and beans. 💚 Hand watering means I can control how much water I give each plant type and also can water on the leaves or just the soil. I’ve been using the @Hoselinkofficial retractable hose reels to water my garden for around 3 years now and I love them. 💥 Here’s some occasions when I ONLY water “under” at soil level… 💚 if the plants are susceptible to powdery mildew (tomatoes, cucumbers, melons for example) 💚 if the plant has a disease (some diseases are spread more easily by rain or water) 💚 if I want to be more water wise and mindful or using less water 💦 if you want to use less water then watering at soil level is a good way to go - BUT …. I also like leaving water for insects so a little sprinkle on your leaves on warm days leaves water for the bees and insects too! 🐝 Happy gardening, Sarah 🥂 #inmypatch #veggiegarden #tiktokgarden #gardentok #learntogtow #hoselink #hoselinkaustralia #retractablereels #hoses #watering
Does it matter when you pick your veggies from your garden? Yes ✅ and no ❌ NO, in that your food is still going to be the freshest best tasting food compared to anything you can buy… BUT… If you pick it at the ideal times - you’ll get them at their peak! Nothing better than a warm sweet strawberry from garden! 🍓 #inmypatch #veggiegarden #gardentok #startavegetablegarden #gardentips #growingveggies
