We get it… things happen! Especially in Florida, the sun is brutal, and we are in a very salty climate, so unfortunately the wood just faded wayyyyy faster than ever expected… Bringing it back to new again… well I hope! #disastertodreamhome

Ok well that really darkened it up 🙌🏼 Now do I do the second coat as it calls for? Or wait 7 days until I can sand and top it off with one that brings out more brown then red? Merbau is naturally a very deep red/brown and adding oil every 4-6 months is going to be required, so after I get these back to looking new (or as close to new as I can) it won’t be all this work everytime. I will just have to clean and reapply oil which really didn’t take too long! #disastertodreamhome

A little spur of the moment project with @Jose Garcia ! @victoria :) had so much stuff from her apartment and knowing she’s only home temporarily before med school we didn’t want to get rid of it and have to rebuy so luckily we had tones of totes left over from storage and moving. She kept everything out that she needed but the rest went in storage, but now it’s easily accessible! We went with 6 totes wide and 4 totes high! Probably should’ve done 2 separate ones, but now we can store 24 totes with out having to move them all around to reach something on the bottom. 👍 #disastertodreamhome

Now this might take a little longer than the front stairs, but now that I got the front ones looking almost as good as new I have faith I can get these looking just as good! Going to try out a few new products to compare how they end up hoping up in the long run. Definitely concerned about that platform though 🤷‍♀️ #disastertodreamhome

Now if you can imagine the pool stairs being 10x worse then these were 🤦‍♀️ Head to my IG to see what these look like now that they are dry 🙌🏼 I just looked today and did not realize how bad the back steps are! Not sure if I’m going to be using the same product or give a different one a try and compare which one works better with the Florida sun… #disastertodreamhome

Fixing our neighbors pavers 🙌🏼 @CollinsBuilt Pools, Co. did amazing today repairing the pavers that were damaged. We are so fortunate to have the best neighbors! #disastertodreamhome

Refinishing our new stairs... Pool stair edition! Using the Merbau saw dust from the front stairs and mixing it with @BOSSDOG Wood Glue 👍 So far this is my favorite way to fill in the cracks! I tried 3 different wood fillers on the front steps and this method is by far the easiest to apply and get into those small cracks! Thank you @Nick Starrett for the recommendation! Such an awesome product! 👌 #disastertodreamhome

Florida went from being in a drought to now raining every single day…Not complaining because we needed the rain, however my stair project has been delayed! But here is doing step 3 which was supposed to make a huge difference… well, it did not! So in between the rain I’m going to be filling in some of the larger cracks before I apply the oil. Let me know if you’ve had luck with any products to do this! #disastertodreamhome

I heard back from the company! 🙌🏼They are going to be sending a new platform and additional support for underneath as they agree it is a safety issue. Today I applied Step 1 to the back stairs. I was able to refinish the front stairs and they look almost like new, so I think I can these looking just as good! Need to finish this week as @briana_eastcoast graduation party is Sunday 🎓 #disastertodreamhome
