Here are some of our amazing transformations that we have been able to witness over the last few years. Through the hard work, long hours, resilience and of course a lot of snacks we are able to help these animals bounce back to their happy and healthy selves. Whether they are found emaciated in the fields, abandoned in a muddy creek or needing a cart to help them get back on their feet we will go above and beyond to show them kindness and help them along the path to recovery. And of course none of this is possible without your support towards a kinder world. Porsche arrived at Edgar's Mission in early July 2024, she is the embodiment of resilience, tenacity and sweetness. As not only was she born without hooves, but she also lost her dear mother on the very day she was surrendered to sanctuary.  When she arrived her little stumps had been bloodied and raw from walking on the rough and frosty ground for ten days. And over the next months she would receive daily care as her bandages needed to be cleaned and changed every day.  Until today, when she is finally old enough to replace the sponges and bandages with these new prosthetics! Over the last few months we have worked with vets and Infinitely Able Pets to custom fit her new boots, with some trials and further adjustments she is now walking a few inches taller in our paddock as she takes this next stride in her life.  Her life has forever been changed by everyone's support, from every donation made towards her vet appointments, the cost of her bandaging, and her endless snacks. As we are about to celebrate 22 years of Edgar's Mission tomorrow we often get asked why we would run a farmed animal sanctuary when it's so much hard work? And when looking at the faces of the over 500 current animal residents or the thousands in our history I don't think we need to give much on an answer. When you see their lives change from being scared or even sick when they first arrived to how they transform through our support and love into a whole new character and personality, that is why we do it, to show them our promise to always give them kindness!
