The Camino De Santiago is a dream of mine. I achieved that dream last May when I walked 250km on the Portuguese route, but I didn’t feel accomplished. Honestly, I had no idea what I was doing last time. I was severely under-educated in all things Camino and right when I started to get a hang of everything, the journey was over. But I saw what was possible, and I was hungry for it. So, for the past year I have worked towards accomplishing the real dream: to walk the Camino the right way. Hike 800 km over five weeks, sleep in the Albergues, find my Camino family, and share the entire experience online in real time. Through the late nights editing in my sleeping bag, endless uphill climbs, laughter, pain, tears, and rain: I made it to the cathedral. This time, I felt that sense of accomplishment. I had done the real thing, the right way. I had walked a true Camino. Looking up at the cathedral, I felt a surge of emotion surface as I reflected on everything it took to get me here. My true Camino began long before Irun or Porto. God has done miracles in my life. Everything from Him is good. My life will never be the same, and that is a good thing. This has been the most incredible, transformative chapter of my life. I am so grateful. Thank you for following along :) Now to the end of the world! #caminodesantiago #norte
I hope this is helpful! Albergues seem confusing but once you get the hang out them it’s really simple. I really recommend at least trying the municipal Albergues, it’s such a fun experience. LMK if ya got more questions I can help with 🥾#camino #albergue #caminodesantiago #hostel
But really, none of these “downsides” compare to the beautiful journey you experience on the Camino. The snoring doesn’t bother me because I feel free. Just don’t be the stinky pilgrim! #caminodesantiago #camino
From being a priest to exploring Africa in a Land Rover, Ernesto has lived quite the life and documented it well. We share a similar dream, our conversation really inspired me. After years of travel he returned here to Güemes and built this Albergue for pilgrims out of the very home he was born in. He is always working on his art, only stopping to eat or greet pilgrims. He gave me a tour of his studio and an interview for my upcoming YouTube series of the Camino Norte. Ernesto, you’re the coolest. Thanks for the stay :) Albergue: Albergue La Cabaña del Abuelo Peuto #camino #albergue #caminonorte
The Camino is for everyone. I have met people of all ages from all over the world walking the Camino. Your Camino is your own. You can walk short distances or long. You can carry your bag or ship it ahead. You can walk or take a bike. If it is your dream to walk the Camino, you can do it. There is always a way. Thank you Nell for letting me share your story 💛 :) #caminodesantiago
