My male Merauke Green Tree Monitor (Varanus prasinus) LOVES his crickets! 🦎 He chases them plenty, but I take feeding time as an opportunity to build trust with my monitor lizards. They’re incredibly intelligent animals, and very food motivated so it’s the perfect opportunity! On the topic of diet, it’s super important to make sure you’re feeding your pets a VARIED diet and not just one food item its whole life! This Merauke Green Tree Monitor for instance, gets live insects, hard boiled chicken eggs, day old button quail, raw button quail eggs, etc. and all dusted with the proper calcium and vitamins! He’s actually got some leftover quail egg on his nose in this feeding video, lol.
