Talk about discrediting the work of artists, other fanfic writers, cosplayers and creators who have built their characters and stories… not everyone has the time or the CAPACITY to read such a time consuming piece. And in my personal case, being heavily dyslexic has impacted how slowly I read the fic, not to mention the fact that the VERY little time I have to dedicate towards reading will always be granted to books with higher educational standards. My literary priority, hate me if you want, will never be a fanfiction. For a fandom built by the fans and claims to be open minded, you guys sure think that THAT fanfic is the law. But god forbid someone says something that goes against your headcanon. There are so many different ways people can become a fan of something. In my case, for instance, it was through marauders artists, and wanting to share Andy‘s love for the characters. So I did my research, TONS of it, by reading many short fanfics, by talking to artists about their representation of a certain character, taking in the hundreds of different versions of the Marauders and LOVING the diversity of it. There is no „ONE RIGHT WAY“. That’s LITERALLY what this fandom is built on, REWRITING the characters, for comfort, or for a creative outlet, or for the sheer fun of it. This fandom has got to get a grip on the fact that this stuff is in fact : made up. The fun is being sucked out of it by drama-thirsty people that desperately need a hobby. Don’t be the reason creators are fleeing the fandom like the plague. And at the end of the day, does it really matter? In this day and age, that’s what you’re going after people for?
