Polly update: As many of you know, Polly was rehomed to me by a family that had owned her for generations. We were not sure how old she was (assumed between 60 to 70) and I’ve enjoyed learning how to take care of a senior bird since adopting her. Several weeks ago, I got a text from her previous family with this photo- swipe to see the writing on the back! This indicates Polly was one and a half years old in 1970 which makes her around 55 or 56 years old! I’m so glad we finally have an indicator of her actual age now! Although I’m glad to receive the photo, it made me a little sad to see the size of cage she lived in. I hope that was just a travel cage the photo happened to be taken in.
