Appeasement behaviour in dogs. Understanding context is important. Those cute little kisses might actually be your dog asking you to back OFF and give them SPACE. If you ENTER your dogs space and are met with “kisses” , it’s most likely appeasement (or maybe you didn’t wipe that ranch dressing off your mouth well enough). If your dog enters YOUR space and gives you “kisses” they probably want something from you (including affection). Fun fact- we do them TOO !
