How to play Speed: Goal: Be the first to get rid of all your cards. Setup: Deal each player 20 cards: 5 cards in hand + 15 in a face-down draw pile. Place two face-down 5-card side stacks in the center. Place two single cards face down between them How to Play: Play cards one at a time onto either play pile—must be 1 rank higher or lower (e.g., 6 on 5 or 7). No turns—play as fast as you can. ✨Sevens Quick Rules and Variants Here! Bookmark this video and send it to your family so everyone knows how to play for your next game night! This is a great card game to add to your mental catalog of easy card games! 7️⃣ how to play Sevens (sometimes called Fan Tan) Players: 2-8 🎯Objective: Be the first player to play all your cards by building sequences from the 7s. ⚙️Set Up: Use a standard 52 card deck, set aside jokers. Deal all the cards out to the players (some players may have one more card than others — this is okay!) 🃏 How to Play: 7️⃣ Begin with a 7. Begin with the player to the left of the dealer, they can play any 7 card from their hand if able. If not, the next player to the left may and so on until a player can play a 7. Or to begin you can choose a 7 to begin the game (7♥️ for example) and the player with that card in their hand places it in the center to start; play then continues clockwise from this player. Either way is great! ▶️ Play Cards: Players take turns in clockwise order. On your turn you can: Play a 7 card to begin a new row for that suit. or Play a card that is one rank higher or lower than an existing card of the same suit. (e.g. if the 7 ♠️ is down, you can play the 6♠️ or 8 ♠️ to the left or right respectively.) ⏭️Pass if Stuck. If you can't play, you must pass your turn. 🏆Winning: The first player to get rid of all their cards wins! 🔄 Turning the Corner Variant: This adds a twist by allowing sequences to wrap, or "Turn the Corner" Normally, you can only play cards one rank higher or lower than an existing sequence. In this variant, Aces connect to Kings, meaning: If an Ace is played, rather than ending the sequence, you may play a King card of the same suit beside it, wrapping the sequence. If a King card is played, you can play an Ace card of the same suit beside it, wrapping the sequence. This variant make the game more dynamic and gives players more opportunities to play their lower and higher rank cards!

It's time to have the hard talk. The Kallax just isn't a great shelf option for board games. I don't know how it happened that they became the official "board game shelf" but it's time we helped new gamers with growing collections find a better solution. Do you agree? If you have a kallax, do you love it or just begrudgingly keep using it?
The clear all around winner! I love how much of a workhorse these shelves are! The Hemnes are a great option for a ready-to-go shelf that will work for all your games, big and small! There are truly so many great options. Before the Hemnes we used wire pantry shelves. Beautiful? Not at all. Workhorses? Like you wouldn’t believe! I still recommend them! Share the shelves you use in the comments! Are they working well, or should folks avoid them?
Official petition to make the Billy bookshelves 2 inches deeper. Sign below! While I’m bummed it doesn’t work great larger games, (unless you’re in Europe, your Billy bookshelf is deeper you lucky dogs!) the Billy bookshelf truly is a great option for your small to medium size games. I especially love that you can buy extra shelves to up the storage capacity even more! Such a game changer!
Hit! Quick Rules 👇 This is a DIY version of a game by Reiner Knizia that’s gone by many names over the years such as Hit, No Mercy, Cheeky Monkey, and Fruit Fight! It’s easy to make and play at home, so bookmark this reel for the next time you’ve got three decks and want a little press-your-luck fun! Make sure you’re following to not miss out on any new card game tutorials and binge the ones you’ve missed on our page! 🃏How to Play Hit! 👩🏻🎨Create a custom deck using three standard decks of cards. You will need: 11 copies of each card Ace-5 7 copies of each card 6-10 (total: 90 cards) Shuffle the cards together to form the draw deck. 🃏How to Play: On your turn, draw cards one at a time, placing them in front of you. ♠️ If you have three or more cards in front of you, you’re at risk of busting. If you draw a card that matches one you already have, you bust and lose all your cards. You can stop at any time before busting to avoid losing your cards ♦️Stealing: During your turn, if you draw a card that matches one on the table, you can steal all copies of that card from all players, adding them in front of you. Be careful! If stealing gives you three or more cards, you are now at risk of busting! ♣️Banking Points: If your cards survive until your next turn, you bank them to your victory pile. Banked cards are safe from stealing. 🏆Winning: Continue until the draw deck is empty. Cards are worth their face value in points. (Ace+1, 2=2, etc) The player with the most banked points wins! 👩🏫 Busting Explained: You bust if you draw a card that matches one you already have in front of you, AND you already have 3 or more total cards. If this happens, discard all the cards in front of you. Your turn is over. If you draw a match and only have 1 or 2 cards in front of you, you do not bust. Layer this card on its match and either stop or continue with your turn. If the first card you draw matches ones in front of other players and you choose to steal, if stealing these cards would give you 3 or more cards, you now are in danger of busting should you draw that card again.

Short on time, but not on fun! 🍹 Pina Coladice is such a fun blend on the familiar Yahtzee style dice rolling and player positioning to get the most points while blocking your opponents. Plays well for both young and old! 🔢 Slide is simultaneously a challenge to yourself to get your best (lowest) score, with the occasional offensive draft to stop someone scooping up a game winning card! 🪷 A Gentle Rain is easily the game I get the most messages about — it's the perfect solo game for everyone, even players who don't often enjoy solo games! Which one would you want to play first?
Forever impressed with the game selection at Barnes & Noble. Save this post for the next time your browsing the aisles! Have you picked up any fun games lately?
The Tonstad has entered the chat! I've been so impressed with this bookcase! While not perfect (I really wish it had six adjustable shelves!) it's one of the best options for larger, heavier games and honestly, I love it for everything else too. A classic beauty! You can always use pretty bins or a smaller, narrower shelf like the Billy for your small game collection. Would only having 5 shelves bug you? Or do you like the more open look?
