stimming is a form of emotional regulation which is especially common in autistic people! 💛 it’s often seen as “bad” or “weird” and we’re taught from a young age to mask any behaviours which stand out - but stimming can actually be incredibly useful for emotional regulation!!! this video shows some examples of stims including both positive and negative (happy emotions and frustrated/overwhelmed emotions) movements i do often 🫶🏻 #neurodivergent #autistic #disabled #selfacceptance #youareenough #neurodiversity #MentalHealth #joyful #stim #stimming #stimmingpositivity #autism #autismacceptance #autisticadult #autistictiktok #latediagnosedautistic #neurodivergenttiktok

ACCESSIBLE PLAYGROUND! ♿️🛝 this was honestly so much fun & lowkey a workout 🤣 I wholeheartedly believe that adults should “play” more & have access to experiences like this that make you feel joyful and free again That feeling is really difficult to find when you’re limited by a chronic illness/disability & can’t take part in things like sports or work full-time jobs I often feel like I can’t do much & worry that my life may become boring as my conditions limit the activities I can do 🙈 But days like this, remind me that having fun can look different for everybody !!! And that’s one of the reasons I love seeing accessible design because it enables everybody to access fun activities, and gives the option to those of us with health conditions 🫶🏻 #accessibility #accessible #manchester #wheelchair #wheelchairlife #disabled #accessibilitymatters #disabledcommunity #chronicillness #disability #wheelchairuser #neurodivergent #autisticadult

Replying to @Dumbass 💙 tourette’s can be incredibly difficult to live with at times, but it’s something I’m getting increasingly used to! 🧠 I’m very thankful that my tics lesson a lot when I left school because they aren’t triggered every single day anymore - this gives me so much more energy & confidence in my life tics wax and wane constantly throughout life, so my tics are never the same from month to month, but they will always be here some form or another! 🫶🏻 ##neurodivergent##tourettes##tourettessyndrome##tourettesawareness##ticsawareness##neurology##neurologicalcondition##neurodiversity##disability##dynamicdisability##acceptance##disabledcommunity

don’t be afraid to prioritise yourself 👏🏻⭐️ getting out of a rut is HARD. this is a clip from my new YouTube video talking about grief and my thoughts/feelings recently It’s been a difficult winter for me, and there’s a lot of hard topics such as mental health and depression discussed in this video but it’s an important one 🫶🏻 if you’re somebody who’s struggling with grief or depression, they know that you are not alone Even though my social media looks happy and I go on trips which I do enjoy, at the end of the day I’m a normal human who goes through difficult things too just like anybody else ❤️ #selflove #depression #disabled #neurodivergent #support #youarenotalone #loss #grief

FND awareness day 2025 🧠🧡 | i was diagnosed with functional neurological disorder 4 years ago, and this is a bit of my story! I don’t talk as often about my FND nowadays (mostly because it’s more well managed than when I was in high school) but it’s still something that affects me every single day my symptoms include: ✰ non-epileptic seizures ✰ paralysis episodes ✰ drop / sleep attacks ✰ dystonia / limb locking ✰ brain fog & memory loss ✰ chronic fatigue & muscle weakness ✰ chronic pain ✰ tremors and FND can cause so many more debilitating symptoms 🫂 It’s a condition that is so widely misunderstood, and research is incredibly underfunded - this leads to inadequate care and a lot of people being left without support this needs to change. ❤️ some resources include: @@fndhope@@FND Action ##disabledcommunity##chronicillness##disabled##wheelchairuser##chronicpain##chronicfatigue##functionalneurologicaldisorder##fndawareness##fndhope##fndhopeuk##neurologicaldisorder

you deserve to feel loved this valentine’s day, and you should give that to yourself ❤️ you don’t need to wait to find somebody else to treat you right, you deserve to spoil and care for yourself too I’ve personally struggled so much with loving myself, especially as somebody with disabilities and things that made me feel “less” than others in the past but after years of working on my own confidence every day, I know that I deserve to treat with kindness no matter what people around me do or say and I’ve also surrounded myself with people who truly DO make me feel good 🥹💕 so, happy valentine’s day to those of you… 💌 who are lonely 💌 who feel like you’re never enough 💌 who are struggling 💌 who are trying to find friends 💌 who struggle to love yourselves 💌 who need some love today do one thing today that is just for YOU. do it because it feels good 👏🏻 not because anybody else wants you to, or because you feel you should… do something that truly makes you happy you ARE worth it. you are worthy. you are enough, on your own and exactly as you are 🫂 #valentines #SelfCare #selflovejourney #youareenough #neurodivergent #autistic #MentalHealth #kindnessisfree #selfcare #gentlereminder

#ad ad | how i pace my travel days using Visible 💙 i’ve used visible for about 10 months now & it’s been so incredibly helpful for tracking my energy!!! i can see which activities spike my heartrate and also track how my symptoms change over time so i can better manage my flare ups 🧠 it also really shows how much my chair improves my fatigue management because my heartrate is kept in my ‘rest’ zone instead of being constantly in the ‘over-exertion’ zone ♿️ travel days are much more manageable now i have data to see what helps and worsens my symptoms the most 💛 i will always highly recommend visible bands! @visible.health #disabled #wheelchairuser #disabledcommunity #accessibility #accessible #chronicillness #pacing #accessibletravel #chronicallyill #postcovid #fnd #dysautonomia

ADVICE NEEDED for flying with a wheelchair??? 😭🙏🏻 i plan to get on a plane this year & any tips are so welcome! it’s so sad that wheelchair users have to think about all these extra risks just because we need a mobility aid to get around 🥲 I really hope in the future travel can be much more accessible for disabled people things to consider: ⭐️ which airlines are safest/best? ⭐️ should i fly with my attachment? ⭐️ how to protect the wheelchair frame? ⭐️ any bad experiences you guys can share? all advice is much appreciated!!! ##disabledcommunity##chronicillness##disabled##accessibility##wheelchair##wheelchairuser##advice

FND is not a mental health problem! it’s a neurological condition 🧠 for many people, factors such as stress or mental illness CAN impact symptoms and make them worse, but this is not the only factor functional neurological disorder affects so many people worldwide, and is not as rare as it was once thought to be 🧡 #disabledcommunity #functionalneurologicaldisorder #fndawareness #fndhope #fndwarrior #neurodivergent #neurologicaldisorder #disabled #disabilityawareness #neuroscience #awareness

ACCESSIBILITY AT SEALIFE LONDON 🦈✨ I absolutely love exploring new places and I’ve been to a few aquariums before, but this was definitely the biggest one yet 🙈 I met up with my friend @jet in London the other week and we spent the day exploring and seeing the animals 🐢🐠🦀 this was also the day where my wheelchair attachment broke… but if you want to know more about that, go and watch my recent reel 🤣 my YouTube channel has a full vlog of this day if you want to know the entire story but overall, it was such a fun day!!! I’m so grateful I can now do trips like this now I have my mobility aids and can manage my energy better 💛 #disabledcommunity #wheelchair #chronicillness #chronicallyill #neurodivergent #autism #autisticadult #autistic #specialinterest #animals #wheelchairuser #accessibility #accessible #wheelchairaccessible

i’m currently recovering from quite a bad viral infection which caused a huge flare of my chronic illnesses, and unfortunately that means taking a huge break from “productivity” and creating 💛 i’m doing slightly better today, therefore i managed to find this edited draft which explains SO well what i’m feeling this week - the guilt from taking a break i feel like a lot of us neurodivergent humans have constantly been in “work mode” and thrive off the gratification of hard work / productivity, but in reality we’re all probably burned out and undiagnosed too🤣 i have *definitely* had my fair share of burnouts over the years, but i’m finally realising that i am not a machine i can’t work 24/7 or be creative every single minute of the day. i can’t reply to every email and help every single person in my DMs. i can’t create all the videos i dream of because there are simply not enough hours in the day and most importantly… i can’t actually ENJOY life and take care of myself if i’m overworking!!! 👏🏻 even though it’s incredibly hard to take a step back, getting sick again has given me some time to properly step away from screens/socials & recover from a period of burnout i entered in winter 🤍🧠 so, even if you feel guilty for not being productive today or this week, it is OKAY to go through ups and downs. it is okay to rest and to take time off. you deserve rest. always!!!!! 🩷 • #neurodivergent #disabledcommunity #chronicillness #disabled #chronicallyill #chronicfatigue #chronicpain #postviralsyndrome #functionalneurologicaldisorder #dysautonomia #disability #awareness #MentalHealth #autistic #autism

life is meant for living, not for being perfect 💛 every single human being makes mistakes or has things that they don’t like about themselves We all have things we can’t change and things that we wish we could. i spent the first 17-18 years of my life wishing i could fit in, and not knowing that i was autistic but ive learned that in the grand scheme of things… life is just here so that we can exist and have the most fun we can. 👏🏻 life is for moments where we’re laughing, trying new foods and experiences, spending time with people we love, finding out what we like and who we are, wearing clothes that make us feel confident it’s taken me years to allow myself to just be whoever I am (all quirks and neurodivergent traits included!!) and actually enjoy all the small moments but now i’ve started to accept myself, I am actually LIVING. there is so so so so much joy to be found in every day when you look for it 🥹🌼🌟✨ #neurodivergent #autistic #disabled #selfacceptance #laughter #doitfortheglimmers #youareenough #MentalHealth #joyful #neurodiversity

The disabled community saved me 💛 I grew up as an undiagnosed autistic person and then developed chronic illnesses as a teenager even before my physical health deteriorated, I still never felt like I fit in I spent the first 18 years of my life thinking that I “just wasn’t made to have proper friendships” and that I’d never find someone I could truly be myself with ❤️‍🩹 But after my autism diagnosis, it really opened up a brand-new world to me and showed me that I am normal… but in a neurodivergent way! And finding the chronic illness community has given me friendships where people understand that I can’t keep up when my energy is low They understand that I need to take breaks and that I can’t go out partying or socialising every day like a lot of people my age ❤️ I really love the people I have around me and I think it’s the first time in my life I’ve ever been truly happy :) And I have the internet to thank for that! ##neurodivergent##disabledcommunity##disability##disabled##acceptance##youarenotalone##selflove##MentalHealth##autismoftiktok##autistic##autisticadult##latediagnosedautistic##chronicillness##chronicillnessawareness##disabledandproud
