How it started: going in for labor! We got a call from my doctor that she thought we should come in early before my planned birth date because against all odds my cantaloupe-size fibroid had miraculously moved out of the birth canal and the baby had turned head down and applied to my cervix! My husband was nervous (a lot could go wrong) but I was SO excited. It hasn’t been the easiest pregnancy 🥲 and meeting the baby is the best part! I wore my boy mom baseball jammies and we headed to the hospital! We got out in the same room where I gave birth to Lily, but Adam was just excited about watching the delivery from the birth bathtub in the room 😂. While we waited, Adam fixed the broken window shade in return for a discount on the birth (Jk just because he was bored and it was broken). Things got scary when the baby’s heart rate and oxygen levels dropped because my contractions started happening too fast. They put me on oxygen and gave me a shot to slow down contractions. Eventually they broke my water, and almost 10 hours after we checked in, I could physically feel him moving down the birth canal (it was the craziest feeling ever!) and then it was time to push! The moment we've all been waiting for 🥹 I had no idea she'd be THIS excited! Wait for her to say "I'm a big sister!" at the end. Honestly, this may be the coolest experience of my life, seeing my sweet little girl be so excited to meet her baby brother! We spent nine months trying to prepare her to have a little sibling, & moments couldn't have gone better. 10 days until birth 🩵 Really tough night the other night. I was taking a bath and start experiencing really extreme pain really low down. We went to the hospital to play it safe (my mom come over to stay with Lily). During the car ride the pain got worse and worse till it was the worst pain I’ve ever felt. Birth rooms were full at the hospital so they sent me to triage. There they checked my cervix and determined I was not dilated enough to be in labor. The pain was determined to be from my large fibroid degenerating (ie part of the fibroid tissue dying). They say that can feel like losing a limb. All I know is that it was the worst pain I’ve ever felt. Grateful the baby is healthy. But really hoping we get this pain figured out. #pregnancy #babyboy #pregnancyupdate
